proverbially speaking
Fools to wise men
Simple to prudent
Riddles to be figured out
An enigma's meaning to be revealed
Promises made to the unwise
Promises of wisdom and success
These are things to be discovered
But not left in the dirt
They must be pulled out
They must be exposed
They must be used
Otherwise, they are worthless to the treasure-seeker
Like gold left on the shelf
Action must follow instruction
More than a hearer, a doer is required
Lessons must be put into practice
This is the given plan
Simple to prudent
Riddles to be figured out
An enigma's meaning to be revealed
Promises made to the unwise
Promises of wisdom and success
These are things to be discovered
But not left in the dirt
They must be pulled out
They must be exposed
They must be used
Otherwise, they are worthless to the treasure-seeker
Like gold left on the shelf
Action must follow instruction
More than a hearer, a doer is required
Lessons must be put into practice
This is the given plan

Macie
I have a sweet niece; she is Macie.
To her, smashed green beans are real tasty.
She sure likes "Hey Jude"
Her complaints are quite few.
She smiles like the sun on a daisy.

love
You spoke to me. I did not listen.
You did not get my full attention.
Every battle, I had to win.
Every debate, myself defend.
Hurting you was a sacrifice
That I was willing to make.
Never myself would I analyze
When victory was at stake.
I never looked at your point of view.
I always said that you were wrong.
The times I loved were oh so few.
My selfishness grew ever strong.
I held you under lock and key.
But what I would not see;
Your spirit simply could not be
Any less than free.
And that's the way that it should be.
Nothing shackled; Nothing bound.
If I loved like you loved me
Then freedom would be what you found.
I say this all to simply say
That I was very wrong.
I should have listened when you spoke.
Instead, I broke your heart.
I'm sorry for my selfishness.
I'm sorry for the chain.
You should have never gone through it.
I'm sorry for the pain.
I cannot change what's gone and past,
The future's yours to live.
I cannot give you freedom
For freedom's not mine to give.
Freedom to love; freedom to go.
Freedom to fly; freedom to grow.
I love you, my dear, and you are free.
And free is what you will always be.
Love is not self-seeking.
It gives more than it takes.
Love doth find it pleasing
To give it's life away.
You did not get my full attention.

Sitting At the Computer at Night.
Humming. Stirring.
Noise is in the air.
Someone comes and talks to me.
Soon I was gone from there.
Noise is in the air.
Someone comes and talks to me.
Soon I was gone from there.

Psalm 34:10
Hopelessness filled my soul
As I saw this creature writhing in hunger.
The king of the jungle was now the king of desperation.
He sought for food;
There was none to be found.
This creature was stronger than me.
He had more courage;
He was more fit to survive.
And yet there he lay.
Every rib could be numbered.
In desperation, I cried out,
God, how can this be!
How are any of us to survive
If the strongest can't even make it!
I was full of fear and full of pain.
I worried about the future;
Life looked grim.
Then I heard a still and quiet voice.
It was the voice of God.
He understood my weakness;
And with grace, He would conquer my anxiety.
With truth in His eyes
And a will to accomplish His Word,
He said to me:
The lions grow weak;
They have nothing to eat,
But a promise I have for your pain.
If Me, you will seek,
All your needs will I meet,
In your Lord, you will lack no good thing.
The promise echoed in my ears;
I could not see the Lord,
But peace was where it had not been before.
The promise became real in my heart.
I knew that God would keep His Word.
I understood life and faith more.
If I sought on my own to fulfill my wants and needs
Then emptiness would be all I would find.
But God is good
And He loves me more than anyone could ever love me.
If I sought Him,
I would lack no good thing.
If I sought His kingdom and His righteousness,
Then all these things would be added unto me.
In me there is a need, that no one but God can meet.
I was created to glorify Him.
Though I sought His gifts,
His gifts will never Him be.
God is Who I need.
God is Who I need.

C. S. Lewis and How Narnia Began
"One thing I am sure of. All my seven Narnian books, and my three science-fiction books, began with seeing pictures in my head. At first they were not a story, just pictures. The Lion all began with a picture of a Faun carrying an umbrella and parcels in a snowy wood. This picture had been in my mind since I was about sixteen. Then one day, when I was about forty, I said to myself: 'Let's try to make a story about it'."

I would like to start writing. I thought it might be cool to post my stories and poetry on this website. If the stories or poems aren't to your liking, then feel free to tell me.
